Toyota secured the FIA World Endurance Championship manufacturers’ crown on Sunday with a one–two finish at the Six Hours of Barcelona. Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryō Hirakawa brought the No. 8 Toyota home ahead of the sister No. 7 car.

Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries completed Toyota’s leading pair. The No. 50 Ferrari AF Corse, shared by Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen and Miguel Molina, finished third at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The result delivered Toyota’s eighth manufacturers’ title in the championship and its fifth in the Hypercar era, which began in 2021. For the winning No. 8 crew, Barcelona brought a third victory of the season and a second successive win following its success at Fuji.

The race began on a wet track, creating difficult conditions for the field. Genesis had started from pole position but quickly lost ground, while Toyota moved into the leading positions. As the surface dried, the Japanese manufacturer maintained control and converted that advantage into a formation finish.

There is still a contest to settle in the drivers’ championship. Buemi, Hartley and Hirakawa now lead their No. 7 team-mates by 17 points, with one round remaining. The manufacturers’ trophy is secured, but the result in Barcelona did not decide which Toyota crew will become drivers’ champions.

Porsche took victory in the separate LMGT3 category through Richard Lietz, Yasser Shahin and Riccardo Pera in The Bend Manthey entry. Their first win of the season made them the seventh different winner in seven LMGT3 races, providing a contrasting pattern to Toyota’s latest consecutive victories.
