Milwaukee Brewers recovered from four runs down to beat Tampa Bay Rays 5–4 on Saturday night, taking a 2–0 lead in the World Series after Cooper Pratt delivered the decisive hit in the seventh inning.

Pratt’s single to right field brought home Brice Turang, who had doubled against Tyler Wells before advancing on Garrett Mitchell’s flyout. The rookie shortstop’s contribution completed a turnaround that had begun almost as soon as Milwaukee fell behind at American Family Field.

Tampa Bay scored all four of their runs in the first inning. Chandler Simpson and Junior Caminero each singled in a run against Logan Henderson, before Liam Hicks hit a two-run home run. An earlier throwing error by Pratt had helped the Rays establish their advantage.

The Brewers immediately reduced the deficit through run-scoring singles from William Contreras and Mitchell. Pratt then scored in the fourth when Jonathan Aranda failed to field David Hamilton’s grounder, leaving Milwaukee just one run behind.

Sal Frelick levelled the scores with a solo home run in the sixth, ending a nine-pitch contest with Ian Seymour. It was Frelick’s first home run since July, and set up Pratt’s opportunity to put Milwaukee ahead an inning later.

The Brewers’ bullpen kept Tampa Bay scoreless for the final six innings. Abner Uribe earned the win and Aaron Ashby secured the last five outs, surviving a ninth-inning double by Jonny DeLuca that left the potential tying run on third base.

Milwaukee have now won seven consecutive postseason games. The best-of-seven series moves to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg for Game 3 on Monday, with both clubs still pursuing their first World Series championship.
